FMP : Communicating the whole concept with Video and new FEATURES **

THE PROCESS OF CREATING THE VIDEO AND ADDING FEATURES

Since the final segment of the execution failed not due to the lack of thought process or the concept itself but unfortunately, the VR/MR/AR execution of the prototype was few updates away, so because of this technical limitations I was forced to be creative and create new features and videos.

NEW FEATURES ADDED!! FOR BETTER USER EXPERIENCE, ENGAGEMENT AND FUNCTION OF THE APPLICATION

The best thing that people forget about creating a working application is it can be continuously improved on, for example all the top apps where 0.0001% of what it is during their birth.

newfeatures

Instead of integrating the 3D models into video and trying to work out a whole new system of making it work, with after effects. I decided that the best way would be to enable the app to record videos and take photos.

EXPERIMENTS AND TESTS LEADING TO NEW FEATURES

Also, after gaining feedback from different users, I have decided to add the following features unto the product for better user experience.

  1. PLACEMENT OF 3D MODELS WHERE USER GAIN CONTROL OVER THE SIZE, ANGLE AND LOCATION OF THE MODELS!
  2. SIZE ADJUSTMENTS!
  3. 360 PERSPECTIVE offering to move around and see from different angle.
  4. ABLE TO TAKE PHOTOS
  5. ABLE TO RECORD VIDEOS
  6. REALISTIC FEATURES!

BETTER perspective where users can move around the 3D model and see it from all angle which enables users the to view the models in realistic perspective.

WHY?

This features allows for ability to to get the EXACT AND PRECISE posture for exercise which is one of the biggest problem in fitness, where people who are uneducated about the correct way of working out end up injuring themselves. This can give user 360 perspective of the FITNESS INSTRUCTOR.

As you can see from the first image the size has been vastly reduced, this allows for users to adapt the fitness instructor according to their needs rather than being forced unto one perspective. The size can be reduced to tiny to massive more examples below.

Another feature that will immensely improve the user experience of the users.

VR/MR/AR TECHNICAL LIMITATION

As you can see, I successfully integrated the VR/AR style unto google cardboard and the below screen example of how it would work, but UNFORTUNATELY there were no ‘OPEN SOURCE’ gesture controls for IOS yet and this made things complicated and with this brought fourth new issues which could only be bypassed by technical innovation or wait for updates.

Hence I had to drop the idea for now, until VR/AR matures and is properly integrated into iOS system.

This made my app felt incomplete, the concept not properly communicated hence now I have to think of a way to communicate the concept. For this purpose I have thought of many different media such as posters, demonstration video, Advert style video, booklet etc. The obvious choice would be a video.

Issue with the video ***

Due to lack of experience in this field, I really don’t feel confident in the quality of the output that might come out but I have to do it nonetheless less.

CREATING OF THE VIDEO

I borrowed the GoPro from uni unfortunately, the quality and stabilisation was poor, hence I had to start think of other methods of probably borrowing better equipment from the outside or approaching video creators to use theirs for commercial free purpose.

STORYBOARD FOR THE VIDEO

The video enables the concept to be communicated in number of different ways and could look really good if executed right.

As the speculative project is more than just a fitness instructor but a app that enables better experience while working out in mobile. I had numbers of ideas.

All the new codes and functions I had to import unto the newer versos of the application to record the video. This was complicated process and took me quite long to find necessary required stuff to be integrated into the app.

With this new feature you are able to record videos, take phones, place object a the right place in the app. This will be released into the app as future update. You can see the new screen of the app that I am working on bellow.

First process was to create a function within the app where you could record videos from the app just to see how it would look when I later merge unto the real footage.

The above is the screenshot of that. It looked okay but to get the accuracy and story going would be quite complicated process, nonetheless it was time to experiment with few footage and then start thinking of the best way to make it work in the video.

INTIAL STORY BOARD : FITAR LONDON

This was my initial storyboard for FITAR video but unfortunately the GOPRO I borrowed form university lacked the quality in execution hence I will have to think of easier way of executing the video.
